In this two-hour class, explore the unique and exciting world of wood burning and expand your wood burning and painting skills. Crystal will teach you how to transfer a design, burn it into wood, and paint with a loose watercolor style.

You’ll learn the basics of wood burning, and spend some time practicing the basic techniques on a small piece of wood. Next you’ll move on to creating your own coasters!

You will also become more familiar with your wood burning tool, learn about the best woods to use, and finishes used to protect you coasters from water. A container of wood conditioner will be provided if you decide to use these works of art as coasters.

All supplies and tools will be provided:
-Wood burner
-Metal pliers
-Small ceramic dish
-Pencil
-Four pieces of aspen wood
-Watercolor paint
-Paint brush
-Practice wood
-Fine grit sandpaper
-Sand eraser
-Graphite paper
-Washi tape
-Transfer tool
-Design template (4 different leaves)
-Wood conditioning oil to protect your wood.
