If you’ve never experienced the All-American Soap Box Derby before, fasten your seat belt… you’re in for a ride! The Soap Box Derby is a family-friendly competition for children age 7-17. Derby racers work with a mentor (usually a parent or grandparent) at weekly build clinics to build their car. Then after weeks of preparation, racers compete in hopes of making it to the FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship Race in Akron, Ohio!

This year’s Soap Box Derby holds a special place in our hearts since we were unable to host the event last year, due to COVID-19. We’ve invited a special guest, Savanna Woods, to sing the National Anthem. Savanna, a Stanwood native, competed on the most recent season of the hit show – “The Voice”. Savanna scored a spot on Coach Kelly Clarkson’s team with her distinctive Northwest Americana grunge rock sound.
