Join The Hunt – The Great NW Glass Quest 13th Year!
Hello Chamber Members,
The Questers are HERE – and of course with Glass Quest comes Winter Weather! Are you enjoying the 13th Annual Great Northwest Glass Quest? We have a few days left – and it has been wonderful to see our community enjoying The Greatest Treasure Hunt in the PNW. Thank you for your support of this event. The Stanwood Camano News published a great article this week – To Some Glass Quest is More than Just a Treasure Hunt which captures the essence of this wonderful event. We had a few businesses inquire about participation in the event after registration had already closed. Put a reminder in your calendar for early Fall 2022 which is when registration will open for the 2023 event.
Thank you to those of you who attended our February Membership Meeting – The State of the Labor Market – Pandemic Edition with speaker Anneliese Vance-Sherman, PhD Regional Labor Economist Washington Employment Security Department and speaker Jessie Gunn, Executive Director of Whidbey Community Foundation, and County Lead of Partners for Young Children in Island County. A recording of the meeting as well as a PDF of their presentations can be found on our website under NEWS & UPDATES.
Our March Membership Meeting will be on Thursday 3/17 at 11:30 on Zoom and the topic is Stanwood-Camano Past & Future. The Stanwood Camano area has both an exciting future and a fascinating past. Be inspired with presentations from FBLA students from Stanwood High School led by director of the program – George Colby. Learn about our fascinating Island history with a presentation by Fred F. Poyner IV, Executive Director of the Stanwood Area Historical Society and Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center. Register in advance to receive Zoom link.
Please let us know if you would like your business featured in an upcoming newsletter!
Best Regards,
Jessica McCready

Cactus & Co. Camano
|
|
At Cactus & Co. we can’t wait to share our plant goodies with you. For years I truly thought I wasn’t capable of keeping plants alive. I would dream of having a Fiddle Leaf Fig in the corner of my living room or a Snake Plant by the fire place. I started with succulents but they never seemed to last. But, with a little research and some good light and humidity, I started to get it down. If the whole ‘I can’t keep plants alive to safe my life’ resonates with you, please come into the shop! We are here to help you! We have a wide variety of indoor plants, pots, locally made plant accessories and gifts. Find us at the Camano Commons Marketplace on Terry’s Corner above Brooklyn Bros Pizzeria.

Bloodworks NW
|
|
Bloodworks NW is asking for your assistance with an upcoming blood drive in March. The Stanwood United Methodist Church will be hosting a blood drive on March 1st & 3rd. At the moment we have roughly 80 open lefts to fill and would greatly appreciate your support in spreading the word and encouraging members of your business and community to participate. Our local blood supply has hit emergency levels. We are asking everyone who is feeling healthy – especially type O donors – to please schedule a donation in the weeks ahead,ASAP. If you do not see an immediate appointment available, booking the next available
appointment in the next 12 weeks is vital to stabilizing our community blood supply.
