Administrative Assistant

Position Overview:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for working directly with chamber members, soliciting new members, and supporting chamber events and initiatives. The administrative assistant will work closely with the Executive Director and must be an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, can handle multiple tasks efficiently and can work independently.

The Chamber embraces an individual who is innovative, creative and willing to constantly improve business relations and opportunities to promote the Stanwood-Camano area as a whole.

Work will be conducted remotely on a flexible schedule.

The Camano Island Chamber of Commerce promotes a healthy economic environment for businesses by connecting our community through commerce and tourism to preserve our unique island culture.


  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to fulfill the vision and policies of the Camano Island Chamber of Commerce.
  • Support membership with implementation of chamber benefits (social posts, newsletter features, ribbon cuttings, attending member events, etc.)
  • Increase chamber membership and outreach through active recruitment and sales calls.
  • Attend Chamber Board Meetings and General Membership Meetings.
  • Assist with creating engaging social media posts for the chamber and membership.
  • Maintain and update chamber spreadsheets and documents.
  • Handle general duties such as checking voicemail, mail, ordering supplies, etc.
  • Event Support for the following Chamber Events:
    • Northwest Glass Quest (February)
    • Shop Local Win Local (April & November)
    • Business People of the Year Awards (October)
    • Chili Chowder Cook-Off (November)


  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with local business owners and organizations.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and willingness to learn software such as Canva, as well as simple website edits.
  • Previous experience working in a non-profit organization is desirable but not mandatory.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.


This role is considered as Non-Exempt and Regular, Part-Time


Average 10-20 hours per week dependent upon chamber events and initiatives.
